What the book establishes

A walk through the story

Drawn from the book.

This map follows the published text of The Tide Dragon’s Keeper. Each of its fifteen places includes an exact excerpt and chapter reference.

The town’s name is Port Selby. The painting follows the book’s relationships: the harbour road climbs into town; the pub stands at its junction with the high street; the cliff path reaches the sanctuary; the greenhouse stands behind the cottage; the pool behind the barn connects to the cove; and the lighthouse overlooks the water from the far point.

The book leaves exact distances, street bends, building footprints and several neighbouring positions open. Those parts of the painting are an artist’s interpretation. It is not to scale and has no surveyed compass orientation.

The map shows the familiar town and sanctuary without marking the later discoveries. The excerpts describe places without revealing the plot.
